FBI Labels Rally Shooting an Assassination Attempt on Trump

The FBI has classified the shooting at former President Donald Trump’s rally on Saturday night as an attempted assassination.

“This evening, we experienced what we are calling an assassination attempt on our former President Donald Trump. It is still an active crime scene,” stated Kevin Rojek, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Pittsburgh field office, during a news conference in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Rojek mentioned that authorities are “working tirelessly to identify the individual responsible for this act and to understand their motives,” urging the public to provide any information that might assist in the investigation.

The FBI has mobilized investigative agents, evidence response teams, and other personnel from across the nation to support the investigation, he added.
