Paris Moves to Contain Lebanon-Israel Escalation: Report

Paris is actively engaging in various efforts within the region to mitigate the risk of a large-scale conflict originating from the southern Lebanon front, according to a diplomatic source in Paris.

This source disclosed to al-Joumhouria newspaper that both Lebanese and Israeli officials have assured Paris they are not seeking to escalate or widen the current skirmishes.

Furthermore, Paris has emphasized to both parties the lack of benefit in any escalation and has stressed the critical necessity for an immediate cessation of military activities, the source further elaborated in comments made public on Thursday.
