U.S. Army Chief Gen. CQ Brown and Israeli Army Chief Herzi Halevi made a joint visit on Monday to the Northern Command headquarters of the Israeli military, following a significant escalation between Hezbollah and Israel the previous day.
The Israeli army stated, “The commanders conducted a situational assessment at the IAF Operational Command Center on Sunday. Today, they visited the Northern Command headquarters, where they were briefed on the ongoing conflict with Hezbollah and the operational plans moving forward.”
During the visit, Israel’s army chief emphasized the mission at hand: “Our objective is clear: to ensure the safe and swift return of the northern residents to their homes. We are resolute in our efforts to continue striking Hezbollah, targeting its leaders, and dismantling its infrastructure and capabilities without pause.”
Halevi highlighted a recent success, stating, “About a month ago, we eliminated Hezbollah’s top military commander, Fouad Shukur Mohsen. Yesterday, through a preemptive operation, we successfully thwarted another Hezbollah attempt to target Israeli citizens in the northern and central regions. Most of the targets we destroyed were aimed at the north.”
He concluded by acknowledging the ongoing threat posed by Hezbollah, saying, “Hezbollah still possesses significant capabilities, and our mission is not yet complete. We are committed to ensuring the residents of the northern region can return home safely, and the IDF is working tirelessly to make that happen as quickly as possible.”
