Report: US urges Hezbollah restraint after Abdallah assassination

Washington reached out to caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati and Speaker Nabih Berri following Israelโ€™s assassination of senior Hezbollah military commander Taleb Abdallah, according to a Western diplomatic source.

The U.S. โ€œemphasized the need for restraint, advising that Hezbollah should avoid any miscalculation in its response to the assassination,โ€ the source told Asharq al-Awsat newspaper.

This development follows Hezbollahโ€™s extensive rocket and drone attacks on northern Israel for two consecutive days, marking the most intense exchange since the skirmishes began on October 8.
