US urges Doha to dispatch envoy to Beirut for de-escalation talks, report says

Qatari envoy Abou Fahad Jassem Al-Thani is set to visit Beirut soon to address security issues in southern Lebanon, not the presidential situation, a media report revealed.

According to informed sources cited by al-Akhbar newspaper, Al-Thani will engage with Hezbollah, the Amal Movement, and security chiefs to explore de-escalation possibilities on the southern front with Israel.

This visit aligns with coordination efforts with the U.S. administration, which has requested Dohaโ€™s involvement. The U.S. hopes that Qatari influence on Hamas, combined with intervention in Lebanon with Hezbollah, might help prevent a broader conflict.
