The U.S. military has successfully neutralized a significant number of aerial threats over the Red Sea, intercepting over a dozen attack drones and multiple missiles launched by the Houthi rebels based in Yemen, according to a Pentagon announcement.
The Pentagon’s Central Command reported that there were no damages to ships in the vicinity or any injuries. This statement was made in a social media post detailing the interception of 12 drones, three anti-ship ballistic missiles, and two land-attack missiles, all within a span of 10 hours.
On Tuesday, the Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for a missile attack on a ship in the Red Sea and a drone strike aimed at Israel, expressing support for Gaza.
In their statement, the rebels acknowledged conducting an assault on a commercial ship, which they named as MSC UNITED. They also claimed responsibility for deploying several drones targeting military sites in southern Israel.
