Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri is engaging in discussions with domestic political figures and international entities to reinvigorate the process for Lebanon’s presidential election, according to media outlets.
This initiative by Berri is a response to recent reports suggesting renewed global interest in Lebanon’s presidential selection, particularly at a time when completing the electoral process is seen as critically necessary. This was highlighted in a report by ad-Diyar newspaper.
In light of this, Berri plans to initiate post-holiday consultations aimed at fostering consensus among various Lebanese factions. According to insights from French and Qatari officials cited by political sources, these talks are expected to favor a ‘third choice candidate’ in the presidential race.
