US: Deadly Mississippi Bus Crash Leaves 7 Dead, 37 Injured

Early on a Saturday morning east of Vicksburg, Mississippi, a tragic bus accident resulted in the deaths of seven individuals, including two young siblings aged six and sixteen, according to Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey.

The incident occurred at approximately 12:40 am on Interstate 20 near Bovina in Warren County. A 2018 Volvo commercial passenger bus, headed west, veered off the road and overturned, reported the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

In total, thirty-seven passengers were taken to various hospitals with injuries that were not specified in detail. The co-driver of the bus did not require hospitalization.

Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace expressed the gravity of the situation in a statement to an ABC affiliate, noting the heightened tragedy due to the multiple fatalities and injuries involved.

Coroner Huskey also noted that most of the bus passengers were Latin American.
