UN Warns: Open Gaza’s Gates to Commercial Aid to Avert Famine

With the arrival of winter, the situation has worsened for those living in exposed conditions, as noted by a UN official. Over 1.4 million individuals are residing in crowded and unsanitary conditions in UN shelters, facing a severe shortage of food and basic hygiene amenities, as stated by Lazzarini.

Lazzarini also highlighted the impact of the war on Israelis, particularly since Hamas’ significant assault on October 7, 2023. This attack resulted in the capture of several hostages who are still being held in Gaza.

He emphasized the prolonged distress and anxiety experienced by the hostages and their families, marking over 100 days of this challenging situation.
