Spain backs South Africa’s Gaza case at UN top court

Spain has decided to support South Africa’s case at the United Nations’ top court, where Pretoria has accused Israel of committing “genocide” in Gaza, according to Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares on Thursday.

“Our sole goal is to end the war and progress towards implementing the two-state solution,” Albares stated. This announcement follows a significant move by Spain, along with Ireland and Norway, to officially recognize the state of Palestine, a decision that has provoked a strong reaction from Israel.
