Negotiations Progress on Ceasefire Between Israel and Hamas, According to Qatar

On Friday, Qatar, acting as a mediator in the Israel-Hamas conflict, announced that efforts to renew the ceasefire between the two parties are ongoing. Qatar expressed significant concern over the recommencement of Israeli airstrikes following the expiration of a week-long ceasefire earlier in the day.

Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of breaching the ceasefire terms. Qatar, in its role as a mediator alongside Egypt, seemed to particularly emphasize Israel’s actions in the resumption of hostilities.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry stated that the renewed attacks on the Gaza Strip immediately following the ceasefire’s conclusion are hindering mediation efforts and worsening the humanitarian crisis in the region. The ministry called for immediate international intervention to halt the escalating violence.
