Following the expiration of a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas, the health ministry in Gaza, operated by Hamas, reported that 109 individuals lost their lives in the Palestinian territory on Friday due to the resumption of hostilities.
According to spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra, there were also numerous injuries resulting from what he described as “Israeli aggression”.
The Israeli military announced that it had targeted over 200 locations within the Gaza Strip. The military’s statement detailed that these strikes were carried out by ground, air, and naval forces, focusing on areas in the north and south of the Gaza Strip, including Khan Yunis and Rafah.
An Israeli government spokesperson, Eylon Levy, commented on Friday, indicating that Hamas would face severe consequences. He stated that Hamas had effectively ended the truce by not releasing all kidnapped women. Levy emphasized that, as a result of holding onto Israeli women, Hamas would face significant retaliation.
