Israeli media reported that a security source threatened “Beirut will shake today” after Hezbollah rockets injured 10 Israelis in the Tel Aviv area and northern Israel.
On Sunday, air raid sirens were activated across several regions in central and northern Israel, following rocket fire from Lebanon. The Israeli military confirmed that 18 projectiles were launched from Lebanon toward central Israel, and approximately 30 rockets crossed into northern Israel. Some of these rockets were intercepted by Israel’s defense systems.
Israel’s emergency medical service, Magen David Adom, treated two people, including a 70-year-old woman who sustained minor injuries. The Israeli police conducted investigations at the sites impacted by the projectiles or debris from intercepted rockets.
The military also reported that more than 70 projectiles had been identified early in the morning before the air raid alerts and rocket attacks intensified.
After months of relatively limited border skirmishes, in which Hezbollah claimed to be supporting Hamas, Israel ramped up airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon starting on September 23. A week later, ground troops were deployed to southern Lebanon.
