Israel Kills 4 Militants Infiltrating Shebaa Farms from Lebanon

On Sunday, Israeli forces eliminated four militants who infiltrated the Shebaa Farms from Lebanon, as reported by the Israeli military. This incident escalates the ongoing tension on the 100th day of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli news sources have also reported the wounding of five Israeli soldiers during the clash.

The border between Israel and Lebanon has been a hotspot for frequent skirmishes between Hezbollah militants and Israeli troops since the outbreak of hostilities with Hamas in Gaza on October 7.

The Israeli military stated that their forces, while patrolling the Shebaa Farms, encountered and engaged a group of militants who had entered from Lebanon, resulting in the death of four militants.

This surge in border tension follows the assassination of Hamas’ second-in-command, Saleh al-Arouri, earlier this month in a Beirut suburb, an act widely believed to be carried out by Israel.

Since the beginning of the conflict on October 7, the violence along the border has resulted in 190 deaths, including more than 140 Hezbollah fighters, over 20 civilians, and three journalists, as per an AFP count.

In northern Israel, the conflict has claimed the lives of at least nine soldiers and four civilians, according to Israeli officials.

This uptick in hostility comes in the backdrop of the month-long war fought between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006.
