Iraq Withdraws Ambassador from Tehran Following Missile Strikes

On Tuesday, Iraq announced the withdrawal of its ambassador from Iran for discussions, following the lethal missile attacks conducted by Iranโ€™s Revolutionary Guards in Iraqโ€™s Kurdish region.

The Iraqi foreign ministry stated that Ambassador Nassir Abdel Mohsen was summoned back for consultations in light of the recent Iranian assaults on Arbil, the regional capital, which resulted in casualties.

In a separate development, Iraqi National Security Adviser Qassem al-Araji refuted Iranโ€™s claim of targeting an Israeli Mossad base in the recent missile strike in Erbil. After personally inspecting the site of the attack, which was the residence of an Iraqi businessman, Araji reported to the Kurdish TV channel K24 that there was no evidence to support Iranโ€™s allegations.

Araji, who has been appointed by the Baghdad government to investigate the Iranian strikes, emphasized that the claims regarding the presence of a Mossad headquarters were baseless and incorrect.
