Josep Borrell, the European Union’s chief of foreign policy, emphasized on Tuesday that a key objective in the region should be to avert the extension of the Gaza conflict into Lebanon. He highlighted this as one of the primary concerns.
In addition, Borrell identified two other significant priorities: ensuring the liberation of Israeli captives in Gaza and creating a foundation for resolving the crisis.
He also cautioned Israel, stating that a military approach in Gaza would be inadequate without a subsequent political strategy to address the underlying issues.
