Speaking to troops during a drill simulating a war in Lebanon, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant issued a stern warning on Wednesday, suggesting that Hezbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah could lead Lebanon into severe consequences.
“Given the current situation, Nasrallah may cause Lebanon to incur extremely heavy costs. The extent of what could happen is beyond their imagination,” Gallant addressed the troops from the 646th Reserve Paratroopers Brigade.
“This could escalate into a full-scale war. It’s not just theoretical; it’s a real possibility,” he added.
Nasrallah has vowed that Hezbollah will retaliate against Israel for the late July airstrike in Dahieh, which resulted in the deaths of the group’s military chief, Fouad Shukur, and six others.
