Geagea: South Suffers Due to Iran’s National Security Interests

Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea expressed deep sympathy for the residents of southern Lebanon, especially those in border villages, during the LF’s Upper Metn department’s annual dinner in Maarab. He noted that for the past 10 months, these residents have endured sleepless nights and a lack of peace, with some even losing loved ones.

Geagea questioned the national security necessities that have led Lebanon into such a dire situation, attributing the current suffering of the southern people to Iran’s national security interests. He warned that the ongoing war would have disastrous consequences for Lebanon and placed the blame for the losses on those responsible for initiating military operations in southern Lebanon.

As a solution, Geagea proposed deploying the Lebanese Army along the southern border to take charge of its defense, dismissing theories that suggest the army is incapable of fulfilling this role.
