On Sunday, an Israeli volunteer rescue organization reported that more than 60 Israeli soldiers were injured in the area south of Haifa. This followed a drone attack claimed by Hezbollah, which targeted a military base in the region.
United Hatzalah, the rescue service, stated on its Facebook page, “With assistance from our ambulance teams, we helped over 60 individuals who sustained injuries of varying severity—ranging from critical and serious to moderate and mild.”
Earlier in the day, Hezbollah, which is currently in conflict with Israel, announced that it had launched “a squadron of attack drones” at a military training facility in Binyamina, located south of Haifa. The strike was said to be in retaliation for Israeli airstrikes, particularly on areas in Beirut, including Noueiri and Basta.
This incident occurred just two days after air raid sirens were triggered in central Israel following the incursion of two drones from Lebanon. During that event, at least one building north of Tel Aviv was damaged.
Hezbollah has been launching rockets and drones into Israel regularly for over a year, but the range of these attacks has increased since the conflict escalated in late September. Israel’s advanced air defense systems, such as the Iron Dome, have intercepted the majority of the projectiles, minimizing casualties from the strikes or falling debris.
