Breaking: Basel-Mulhouse Airport Evacuated and Closed for Safety Reasons

On Friday morning, Basel-Mulhouse Airport, jointly operated by France and Switzerland, was evacuated and closed for “safety reasons,” according to an official statement from the airport.

It remains unclear if this closure is connected to the disruptions in the train network occurring elsewhere in France.

The statement read, “The terminal had to be evacuated and is currently closed. Flight operations have been temporarily suspended. Passengers are requested to contact their airline for information about their flight.”

“We regret this inconvenience; it is for the safety of passengers and employees,” the statement added.
