Breaking: Basel-Mulhouse Airport Evacuated and Closed for Safety Reasons

On Friday morning, Basel-Mulhouse Airport, jointly operated by France and Switzerland, was evacuated and closed for โ€œsafety reasons,โ€ according to an official statement from the airport.

It remains unclear if this closure is connected to the disruptions in the train network occurring elsewhere in France.

The statement read, โ€œThe terminal had to be evacuated and is currently closed. Flight operations have been temporarily suspended. Passengers are requested to contact their airline for information about their flight.โ€

โ€œWe regret this inconvenience; it is for the safety of passengers and employees,โ€ the statement added.

EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, situated on the border of France and Switzerland, prides itself on being โ€œthe only binational airport in the world.โ€
