Mikati in Paris for Olympics, Holds Talks with World Leaders

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati has arrived in Paris to represent Lebanon at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, which will be attended by leaders and representatives from 120 countries.

According to al-Joumhouria newspaper, Mikati is scheduled to meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and several other Arab and foreign leaders on the sidelines of the event.

The primary topics of discussion during these meetings will include the situation in Lebanon and strategies to halt Israeli attacks by urging Israel to comply with U.N. resolution 1701, especially given the current Israeli threats of launching a broad war on Lebanon.
