On Tuesday, Egypt’s chief diplomat expressed strong disapproval of what he described as Israel’s “serious escalation” in southern Lebanon, following the Israeli military’s announcement of a “limited and focused” ground incursion.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelaty issued a warning that this escalation by Israel could potentially ignite widespread regional instability, resulting in severe security and humanitarian repercussions. This statement was released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
Additionally, Abdelaty emphasized Egypt’s firm opposition to any efforts that might lead to a new status quo, infringing upon Lebanon’s sovereignty.
