The Israeli military has directed civilians in the al-Jalaa neighborhood of Khan Younis to evacuate due to reported “numerous acts of terrorism” in the area.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, which included a color-coded map showing adjustments to the “humanitarian zone” in southern Gaza, the military emphasized that the warning is meant to minimize harm to civilians and distance them from the conflict zones.
This recent notice marks the second evacuation directive issued by the Israeli military in just a few hours.
Previously, an evacuation order was also given for Palestinian civilians in regions south of the Khan Younis city center, including Sheikh Nasser, Barbakh, and Maen.
The United Nations reports that up to 70,000 individuals have been recently displaced due to these evacuation orders in the eastern parts of Khan Younis. Furthermore, over 86 percent of the Gaza Strip’s land area is currently affected by such evacuation notices.
