On Thursday, an Israeli airstrike destroyed a home in the southern Lebanese village of Shamaa, located in the Tyre district, tragically resulting in the deaths of a Syrian mother and her three children. Local media outlets reported that the attack also left several other individuals wounded.
Earlier that day, Israeli warplanes had conducted a raid on Kfarkila, a town near the southern border, which fortunately did not result in any casualties.
This military action coincided with a speech by Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, who was at that time speaking at a funeral for a group commander killed earlier in the week by another Israeli airstrike in Beirut.
The previous two days had seen a rare lull in hostilities along the Lebanon-Israel border, with Hezbollah not launching any rockets into Israel during that time.
The ongoing conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, which began with the Gaza war in October, has typically involved almost daily exchanges of fire across the border.
