Iran warns Israel: Attack Lebanon and face obliteration

Iran has issued a warning that “all resistance fronts,” including Iran and its regional allies, will confront Israel if it launches an attack on Lebanon. This statement heightens fears of a broader regional conflict, given the ongoing exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah since the onset of the Gaza war. The situation has intensified recently, with Israel confirming its plans for a Lebanon offensive and Hezbollah threatening retaliation. Iran, backing Hezbollah, declared that any large-scale Israeli military aggression would provoke a devastating war involving all resistance fronts.

The Gaza war began in October following an attack on southern Israel by Hamas militants, which Iran supports but denies any direct involvement. Additionally, Iran-backed groups in Yemen have targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea in solidarity with Palestinians. Iran has not recognized Israel since its 1979 revolution and has engaged in previous confrontations, including significant retaliatory actions following airstrikes in Syria.
