US and Europe to Hezbollah: Scale back strikes on Israel, avoid broader war

Iran has warned that if Israel attacks Lebanon, all members of the “resistance fronts”—a coalition of Iran and its regional allies—will confront Israel. This warning comes amid rising tensions and near-daily exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah since the Gaza conflict began. Both sides have intensified their rhetoric and military posturing. Iran’s mission to the UN called Israel’s threats psychological warfare but stated that a full-scale Israeli attack would lead to an “obliterating war,” with all options, including full resistance involvement, on the table.

The conflict in Gaza, which began with Hamas’s attack on Israel in October, has seen increased regional tensions. Iran, while praising Hamas’s actions, denies direct involvement. In addition to Hezbollah’s attacks on Israel, Iran-backed Yemeni rebels have targeted commercial ships in the Red Sea. Iran also supports various regional groups opposed to Israel.
