The youth team from Lebanon showcased outstanding performance in the semi-finals of the Elite Neon Cup

The Athletico Sports club’s Lebanese team has made a significant impact in the Elite Neon Cup, an international European youth tournament for players born in 2014, held in Greece. This prestigious competition features 48 top teams from across the globe.

Remarkably, the Lebanese team progressed through six matches without a single defeat, leading their group and making it to the semi-finals for the first time in Lebanon’s participation in this age category.

Their journey in the tournament included impressive draws against well-known teams like AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain. Ultimately, they clinched the fourth position after a penalty shootout.

This accomplishment is particularly noteworthy considering Lebanon’s current economic struggles and the challenges in local sports, including limited access to proper equipment, funding, and management.
