Vince McMahon, a co-founder of WWE, is currently under federal investigation following allegations of sex trafficking made by a former employee, Janel Grant, as reported by the Wall Street Journal. New York prosecutors have been in contact with Grant, who has accused the former WWE chief of sexual misconduct.
After the recent WWE merger with UFC, McMahon stepped down from his role at the company. He faces allegations from Grant, involving a claim that he engaged in improper behavior during a threesome with her and another ex-WWE employee, John Laurinaitis.
Grant, who initially agreed to a $3 million settlement in 2022 in return for her silence through a non-disclosure agreement, has filed a federal lawsuit against McMahon, 78. She accuses him of sex trafficking and alleges that he ceased payments following the first $1 million installment. Grant is now seeking to nullify the agreement.
Despite these accusations, McMahon has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has not been formally charged in the case.
According to Grant’s claims, McMahon forcibly used sex toys on her, named after unidentified WWE wrestlers, and locked her in a room at WWE’s Stamford headquarters in June 2021. She alleges that McMahon and Laurinaitis took turns assaulting her during office hours.
Moreover, Grant accuses McMahon, who is married, of trafficking her to other men and circulating her nude photos. She is currently seeking unspecified damages for these alleged offenses.
McMahon recently acknowledged the allegations, which he describes as baseless. Nevertheless, citing respect for the WWE community, its business operations, stakeholders, and the WWE’s status as a global leader, he chose to resign from his executive chairmanship and the board of directors of TKO, the conglomerate formed from the WWE-UFC merger.
In other developments, McMahon’s son-in-law, Paul Levesque, known as Triple H, has taken over as WWE’s new chief content officer. Meanwhile, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has joined the board of directors of TKO.
