Wolves vs Manchester City Prediction: 20/10/2024

Wolverhampton has long been a mid-table team, but this season has been particularly concerning for their fans. Currently sitting at the bottom of the Premier League standings, Matheus Cunha and his teammates have only managed 1 draw and 6 losses so far. Their sole point came in a 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest at the end of August. Since then, Wolves have suffered defeats to Newcastle (1-2), Aston Villa (3-1), Liverpool (1-2), and most recently Brentford (5-3).

On the other hand, Manchester City, the reigning English champions for the past four years, were pushed hard by Arsenal last season but remain the favorites to win the title again this year. City are currently in 2nd place, just a point behind leaders Liverpool. After winning their first four matches, City had back-to-back draws with Arsenal (2-2) and Newcastle (1-1). However, they bounced back with a 3-2 victory over Fulham. In the Champions League, City started with a draw against Inter and a win over Slovan Bratislava.

Wolverhampton will be without several key players for this match, including starting defender Mosquera, midfielder Boubacar Traoré, and backup forwards Kalajdzic and Gonzalez, who are all injured. Defender Meupiyou, who joined from Nantes, is also a doubt. Matheus Cunha (3 goals in the Premier League) and Strand Larsen (2 goals and 1 assist) were on the scoresheet in their last game, but Wolves have struggled defensively, conceding the most goals in the league so far.

Manchester City, meanwhile, will be missing captain Rodri in midfield, who is sidelined for the season. Defenders Aké and young winger Bobb are also unavailable.
