US pressures Israel to avoid war with Lebanon

A U.S. official informed Al-Arabiya television that neither Israel nor Hezbollah seeks an all-out war. The official disclosed that Washington is urging Israel to avoid initiating a conflict with Lebanon, as the U.S. does not want the Gaza conflict to spread further in the region.

The U.S. has also utilized diplomatic channels to persuade Iran not to escalate the situation, the official told Al-Arabiya.

Furthermore, the official mentioned that while Israel has the capability to launch a comprehensive assault that would cause significant damage to Hezbollah, Hezbollah does not have the capacity to wage a full-scale war against Israel.
