US Central Command: 8 Medically Evacuated, 34 Injured in Jordan Attack

US Central Command has reported that eight service members were medically evacuated from Jordan due to injuries sustained in a drone strike on a US military outpost near the Syrian border on Sunday.

CENTCOM’s statement explained that these individuals required transportation from Jordan to receive more advanced medical care. The number of US personnel injured in the incident has risen to at least 34, but CENTCOM anticipates that this figure may change as more service members seek additional medical treatment.

Around 350 US Army and Air Force personnel are stationed at the base, known as Tower 22, where they perform various essential support roles. These roles include assisting the coalition in the continued effort to defeat ISIS.
