The United States assisted in tracking the rockets and drones launched by Hezbollah against Israel on Sunday, but did not participate in any strikes in Lebanon or in intercepting the incoming projectiles, according to a U.S. defense official.
“The U.S. was not involved in Israel’s preemptive strikes last night. We provided some ISR (intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) support to monitor the incoming attacks from Lebanese Hezbollah, but did not carry out any kinetic operations as they were not necessary,” the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, stated.
The official also noted, “We continue to closely observe the situation and remain fully prepared to support Israel’s defense against attacks from Iran and its proxies.”
