Israeli police: Turk shot dead after stabbing officer in Jerusalem

In annexed east Jerusalem, an Israeli police officer was moderately injured after being stabbed by a Turkish national on Tuesday, according to police reports. The incident occurred in the Old City of Jerusalem on the street known as Herodโ€™s Gate Ascent. Police described the event, stating the assailant, who was armed with a knife, attacked a border police officer. A fellow officer responded by neutralizing the attacker, who was subsequently declared deceased at the scene.
