Israeli police: Turk shot dead after stabbing officer in Jerusalem

In annexed east Jerusalem, an Israeli police officer was moderately injured after being stabbed by a Turkish national on Tuesday, according to police reports. The incident occurred in the Old City of Jerusalem on the street known as Herod’s Gate Ascent. Police described the event, stating the assailant, who was armed with a knife, attacked a border police officer. A fellow officer responded by neutralizing the attacker, who was subsequently declared deceased at the scene.
