Trump Announces Truce in Effect After Criticizing Both Iran and Israel

Tensions flared in Washington as former U.S. President Donald Trump voiced strong criticism toward both Iran and Israel for breaching a ceasefire agreement announced earlier that day. Speaking at a press briefing, Trump conveyed his displeasure with the two nations, characterizing their long-standing hostilities as misguided and out of control.

In remarks delivered at the White House, Trump described the conflict as so prolonged and entrenched that, in his view, both sides had lost clarity over their objectives. His comments came just hours after he had declared that a truce between the two adversaries had been reached.

Ceasefire Announcement and Subsequent Contradictions

Earlier in the day, Trump used his Truth Social platform to issue a blunt message directed at the Israeli government, instructing it not to proceed with any aerial bombardments. He warned that further airstrikes would constitute a serious breach of the agreement. The message urged Israeli pilots to disengage and return to base immediately, underscoring the seriousness with which Trump viewed adherence to the terms of the ceasefire.

Later, Trump reiterated that the ceasefire remained active and that Israel had called off its planned attacks on Iranian targets. In a follow-up social media post, he claimed that Israeli aircraft had aborted their missions and were returning to base without engaging. He described the move as a symbolic gesture toward de-escalation, stating that the aircraft would make a non-aggressive pass over Iran before heading back.
