Trump says no rush for military action against Iran

US President Donald Trump stated on Thursday that he is not eager to authorize military action against Iran’s nuclear facilities. While responding to reports, he did not explicitly deny claims made by the New York Times that he had intervened to dissuade Israel from launching a strike.

During his remarks, Trump clarified that he wouldn’t describe his communication with Israel as a definitive refusal to support military strikes. Instead, he emphasized that taking swift military action is not his preferred course of action at this time.

Diplomatic Openings Still on the Table

Trump reiterated his belief that Iran has the potential to become a successful nation if it chooses a peaceful path. He noted that diplomatic engagement remains his priority, suggesting that he sees an opportunity for dialogue. However, he warned that if diplomacy fails, the alternative would be far more damaging for Iran.

The president expressed hope that Iranian leaders are open to talks, hinting at continued efforts to avoid escalating tensions in the region.
