Taylor Swift has threatened legal action against a man who has been tracking her private jet flights, calling it “stalking and harassing behavior.” Her lawyer, Katie Wright Morrone, issued a cease-and-desist letter to Jack Sweeney, a college student who operates a social media account that follows Swift’s private jet routes, highlighting concerns over her carbon footprint.
In Touch magazine initially reported on Jack Sweeney’s activities.
Swift’s Legal Warning to Sweeney
Jack Sweeney’s family has since shared the cease-and-desist letter from Swift’s legal team, which was published by **The Washington Post**. In the letter, Swift’s attorneys stated they would have “no choice but to pursue any and all legal remedies” if Sweeney did not stop his “stalking and harassing behavior.”
The letter emphasized that Swift was particularly concerned about her personal safety due to the tracking. The legal team claimed that Sweeney’s social media posts were causing “direct and irreparable harm, emotional and physical distress,” and had heightened Swift’s “constant state of fear for her safety.”
Swift’s legal team also argued that there was “no legitimate interest or public need for this information, other than to stalk, harass, and exert control.”
Sweeney’s Response
In response, Sweeney released his own statement through **The Daily Mail**. He claimed, “I think it’s important to note that I have no intention of causing harm. In fact, I actually think Swift has some good songs. I believe in transparency and public information. It’s also notable that this letter came shortly after headlines emerged about her jet use and carbon emissions. I think people are interested in this information, and that Swift should understand her jet is likely to be tracked, whether or not I do it, since it is public data.”
Jack Sweeney’s Ban on X for Tracking Elon Musk
Before tracking Taylor Swift’s jet, Sweeney had also drawn attention to Elon Musk. He was banned from X (formerly Twitter) after Musk accused him of sharing “assassination coordinates.”
