Taylor Swift stole the show at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards in Manchester, winning four awards in a ceremony largely led by female artists like Tyla and Sabrina Carpenter. The event, celebrating its 30th year, featured Swift as the night’s biggest winner, securing titles for best artist, best live, best US act, and best video for her collaboration with Post Malone on “Fortnight.” Swift, unable to attend, shared a pre-recorded message expressing gratitude and excitement over the recognition.

Tyla picked up three awards, including Best R&B, while Sabrina Carpenter took Best Song. Hosted by British singer Rita Ora, this year marked the seventh time the ceremony was held in the UK. Swift’s success follows her ongoing record-breaking Eras tour and the release of her 11th album, *The Tortured Poets Department,* which earned her seven nominations.

In the highly competitive best artist category, Swift was up against Beyoncé, Billie Eilish, Post Malone, and British singer Raye, who recently broke records with six Brit Awards. Carpenter’s hit “Espresso” won Best Song, beating strong contenders from artists like Eilish, Beyoncé, Benson Boone, Chappell Roan, and Ariana Grande.

Latin artists, including global stars Bad Bunny and Karol G, missed out on top categories despite their international success. However, they both competed in the Best Latin field alongside Shakira, who has revitalized her career with the hit “Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53,” inspired by her split from Gerard Piqué.

Other winners included Blackpink’s Lisa, Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Liam Gallagher, with Busta Rhymes honored as a global icon. This year’s event was the first MTV Europe Music Awards since 2022, following the cancellation of the 2023 show near Paris due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.
