Squid Game 2 Tops Charts in 93 Countries, Breaks Records Again

The third and final installment of Netflix’s South Korean megahit Squid Game has continued its dominance of the streaming platform’s viewership charts. Premiering on July 27, Squid Game Season 3 has rapidly broken records, reinforcing its position as one of Netflix’s most successful non-English-language series ever.

A Phenomenon Unfolding Across 93 Countries

From its first season, Squid Game captivated global audiences with its high-stakes survival storyline and searing social commentary. The third season has carried that momentum forward. In its debut week, the series topped Netflix’s charts in every single one of the 93 countries where it’s available — a first for any Netflix series regardless of language.

According to Variety, Season 3 amassed 60.1 million views within its first three days, quickly launching it into Netflix’s all-time top 10 list of most popular non-English-language series. In just 10 days, the season accumulated a staggering 106.3 million views — setting a new record as the first show on the platform, in any language, to reach that mark within two weeks of release.

A Historic Place in Netflix Rankings

With this latest feat, Squid Game Season 3 now ranks third on Netflix’s all-time non-English-language series list, just behind its own first and second seasons. Its dominance underscores the show’s consistent global appeal and cultural impact since its debut.

Other series on the non-English-language all-time list include Money Heist: Part 4, Lupin: Part 1, and La Palma: Limited Series. However, none have matched Squid Game’s trajectory of topping charts in all available countries upon release.

Room to Grow in English-Language Rankings

While Squid Game Season 3 is a juggernaut among international content, it still has ground to cover before catching up with the top-performing English-language Netflix series. Titles like Wednesday Season 1 (252.1 million views), Stranger Things Season 4 (140.7 million views), and Bridgerton Season 1 (113.3 million views) lead the way.

However, it’s worth noting that those figures reflect 91 days of viewership data, while Squid Game Season 3 has only had 10 days counted so far — leaving 81 days still to make its mark.
