Middle Earth is set to experience some changes. On Thursday, fans and media gathered in Singapore for the premiere of *Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power* Season 2, with the showโs cast, showrunner, and director all in attendance.
The team behind Prime Videoโs ambitious series walked the golden carpet at Shaw Theatre in Singapore before the screening. Among those present were showrunner JD Payne, director Charlotte Brรคndstrรถm, and actors Charlie Vickers, Markella Kavenagh, Charles Edwards, Megan Richards, Tyrone Muhafidin, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and Trystan Gravelle. They posed for photos on the golden carpet before joining fans and press to watch the new seasonโs episodes in a packed theater.
*Rings of Power* is based on JRR Tolkienโs renowned book series, which has also been adapted into a successful film franchise. The series delves into the Second Age of Middle Earth, focusing on the younger versions of some key characters from the beloved saga.
Showrunner JD Payne described the upcoming Season 2 as โbigger, broader, and deeperโ on multiple levels. Charlie Vickers, who portrays the antagonist Sauron, revealed that his character will have a new look this season.
Vickers explained, โFor me, it was about connecting the first season to the second season. Sauron is very skilled at getting into peopleโs minds and becoming what they need. This season, heโs focused on Celebrimbor,โ he said, gesturing toward Charles Edwards. โSauron arrives in a different guise, manipulates Celebrimbor, and collaborates with him to create many rings.โ
*Lord Of The Rings: Rings Of Power* Season 2 will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting August 29.
