Raad: Hezbollah escalates to uphold deterrence

The head of Hezbollahโ€™s parliamentary bloc, MP Mohammad Raad, stated on Sunday that his group feels โ€œreassuredโ€ about the progress of its conflict with Israel.

โ€œThe resistance is escalating its operations against the Israeli enemy to a certain level in order to preserve the deterrence equation,โ€ Raad said.

He explained that Hezbollah is taking these actions to ensure that Israel does not believe it is capable of attacking Lebanon and achieving its goals there.

โ€œAccordingly, we will emerge victorious when we thwart the enemyโ€™s goals,โ€ Raad continued.

Since October 8, cross-border fighting between Israel and Hezbollah has resulted in the deaths of at least 419 people in Lebanon, most of whom are militants, but also include 82 civilians.

On the Israeli side, 14 soldiers and 11 civilians have been killed.
