Oscars 2025 date and nominations timeline revealed by The Academy

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has set the date for the 2025 Oscars. The ceremony is scheduled for March 2, 2025, with the event returning to the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. The Academy shared these details on their social media, noting that nominations for the 97th Academy Awards will be announced earlier in the year, on January 17, 2025.

Typically held in mid-March, the Oscars ceremony has been slightly advanced compared to the March 10 date of this year’s event.

The 2025 Oscars will commence at 7 pm EST and will be broadcast live on ABC.

Looking back at the 2024 Oscars, Christopher Nolan’s film “Oppenheimer” dominated the awards, securing wins in major categories including Best Picture and Best Director for Nolan himself. Cillian Murphy, portraying American physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, won Best Actor. The film, which received nominations in 13 categories, ultimately won seven awards. Emma Stone was awarded Best Actress for her role in “Poor Things.”
