Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri revealed that Lebanon has not yet received a proposed French solution to the Israel-Hezbollah conflict, despite expectations it would arrive two days before French Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné’s weekend visit to Lebanon. Berri shared this in an overnight interview with al-Jadeed TV.
Berri recounted questioning Séjourné about the delay, to which Séjourné responded that the document would be sent “within hours.” Berri affirmed that Lebanon would review the proposal upon receipt. He also noted that during their discussions, Séjourné did not bring up the idea of separating the conflict fronts. Berri emphasized to Séjourné that the hostilities in Lebanon would cease once the war in Gaza ended.
Al-Jadeed later received information from French sources indicating that the revised document would be delivered to Lebanese officials either today (Monday) or tomorrow.
Additionally, Berri mentioned that U.S. mediator Amos Hochstein, who is said to have been in Israel recently, has not made any arrangements to meet nor indicated plans to visit Lebanon.
