As excitement builds for this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the creators of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” have unveiled new characters joining the highly anticipated Season 2, set to premiere later this year.
The new additions to the JRR Tolkien adaptation include:
- Narvi (Kevin Eldon): A master dwarf craftsman and friend of Celebrimbor.
- Camnir (Calam Lynch): An expert elven map-maker from Eriador.
- Rían (Selina Lo): An elven archer from Lindon.
- Mirdania (Amelia Kenworthy): A protégé of Celebrimbor.
Character Details:
Narvi (Kevin Eldon)
Narvi, a renowned dwarf craftsman mentioned by Tolkien, was a key figure in the creation of the famous Doors of Durin. Owain Arthur, returning as Prince Durin IV, mentioned Narvi’s significance in the upcoming season, highlighting his role as both an architect and adviser to King Durin. Eldon explained that Narvi faces a dilemma as the king becomes increasingly influenced by the power of the rings, forcing Narvi to choose between loyalty to the king and the well-being of Khazad-dûm.
Camnir (Calam Lynch)
Camnir is an elven map-maker known for his navigation skills in Eriador. His bravery is tested when Elrond’s group encounters an unexpected attack by the Barrow-wights while seeking a new path to Eregion.
Rían (Selina Lo)
Rían, one of the finest archers in Lindon, is a crucial member of Elrond’s band of warrior-elves. Her skill and courage will be vital in defending Eregion.
Mirdania (Amelia Kenworthy)
Mirdania is a talented apprentice of Celebrimbor. Her loyalty is put to the test when an unexpected visitor arrives in Eregion, potentially changing the fate of the Elven smiths.
About The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season 2
In Season Two, Sauron has returned. After being cast out by Galadriel, the Dark Lord must use his cunning to rebuild his strength and create the Rings of Power, aiming to control all of Middle-earth.
This season will push beloved characters into darker territories, challenging them to find their place as the world edges closer to catastrophe. With friendships strained and kingdoms fracturing, elves, dwarves, orcs, men, wizards, and Harfoots must struggle to maintain what matters most: their bonds with each other.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” Season Two will be available on Prime Video starting August 29.
