In a recent televised speech commemorating the late Hezbollah official Mohammad Yaghi, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah emphasized a definite retaliation to Israel’s airstrike in Beirut’s Dahieh region, which resulted in the death of Hamas deputy head Saleh al-Arouri.
Nasrallah saw Lebanon’s potential to reclaim its territories, extending from the B-1 point through Shebaa Farms, post the cessation of aggression against Gaza. He stressed the importance of establishing a principle to protect Lebanon’s sovereignty, stating that any discussions or negotiations would only be viable after the conflict in Gaza ends.
Addressing the assassination of Arouri in Beirut, Nasrallah expressed that Hezbollah could not overlook such a significant and perilous breach. He underlined his close relationship with Arouri, declaring that such an act would not go unanswered. Nasrallah argued that the consequences of not responding to this violation are greater than the potential risks of retaliation, thus justifying the decision to respond on the battlefield.
