Scott McTominay opened the scoring just before halftime with an acrobatic volley, marking his 12th league goal of the season. Romelu Lukaku added a second goal early in the second half, securing the win. McTominay’s performance throughout the season earned him the Serie A Player of the Season award, having contributed 12 goals and six assists in 34 league appearances.

Inter’s Concurrent Win Falls Short

Inter Milan’s 2–0 win over Como, featuring goals from Stefan de Vrij and Joaquín Correa, was insufficient to overtake Napoli in the standings. The match saw Como reduced to ten men after goalkeeper Pepe Reina received a red card in the first half, marking an abrupt end to his professional career.
