On Monday morning, a drone strike killed two individuals riding a motorcycle on a road between Shaqra and the southern border town of Mays al-Jabal.
An earlier strike targeted a car, injuring two people. The drone then struck the approaching motorcycle, injuring a nearby child.
Hezbollah confirmed the death of two of its fighters, stating they were “on the road to Jerusalem.”
Since October, cross-border fire has resulted in at least 527 deaths in Lebanon, according to an AFP tally. Most casualties have been fighters, but at least 104 civilians are also among the dead.
In northern Israel, the Israeli army reports 22 soldiers and 24 civilians have been killed.
Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah mentioned that if a ceasefire were achieved in Gaza, his group would halt cross-border attacks.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken emphasized that securing a ceasefire in Gaza is the best way to prevent the conflict from escalating. Despite months of effort, a deal remains elusive. However, Egyptian state-linked media reported that talks were underway Sunday in Rome.
