Miss World returns to India after 28 years; Karan Johar to host finale

The 71st edition of the Miss World pageant will be presided over by acclaimed Indian filmmaker and television personality, Karan Johar. This event marks the return of the Miss World competition to India after a gap of 28 years. The preliminary rounds and various subsidiary competitions commenced on February 18 in New Delhi, with the grand finale scheduled for March 9 in Mumbai.

The official Miss World Instagram account shared the news, expressing honor in having Karan Johar, a distinguished figure in the Indian film industry and a recipient of numerous accolades including two National Film Awards and the Padma Shri, host the event.

The climax of the Miss World pageant will unfold at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai at 7:30 pm on March 9, with live streaming available on SonyLiv. Sini Shetty, who was crowned Miss India World 2022, will be representing the country at this international platform.

Audiences can look forward to entertainment from popular musicians Tony Kakkar, Neha Kakkar, and Shaan during the finale.
