Mikati: Lebanon must not become a battleground, especially from the south

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed the importance of preventing Lebanon from becoming an arena for armed conflicts, particularly in the south. During a press conference with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, Mikati called for the implementation of relevant U.N. resolutions to curb Israel’s expansionist ambitions. He highlighted the need to avoid linking Lebanon’s stability to prolonged conflicts. The ongoing cross-border violence between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has resulted in significant casualties, including civilians on both sides.
