Mikati: Lebanon must not become a battleground, especially from the south

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati stressed the importance of preventing Lebanon from becoming an arena for armed conflicts, particularly in the south. During a press conference with Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vaticanโ€™s Secretary of State, Mikati called for the implementation of relevant U.N. resolutions to curb Israelโ€™s expansionist ambitions. He highlighted the need to avoid linking Lebanonโ€™s stability to prolonged conflicts. The ongoing cross-border violence between Israeli forces and Hezbollah has resulted in significant casualties, including civilians on both sides.
