Manchester City and Arsenal tightened the Premier League title race with significant wins, while Manchester United suffered a setback from Fulham, highlighting the intense competition at the top.

City closed the gap on league leaders Liverpool to just one point with a narrow 1-0 win at Bournemouth, capitalizing on Liverpool’s absence due to their League Cup final commitments. Meanwhile, Arsenal demonstrated their formidable form by thrashing Newcastle United 4-1, marking an impressive run of 15 goals in their last three league matches.

With Liverpool at 60 points, City just behind at 59, and Arsenal at 58, all having played 26 games, the title race is shaping up to be the most competitive it has been in a decade, reminiscent of the close contest between City, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

Manchester United, on the other hand, experienced a blow to their aspirations as they fell to Fulham at Old Trafford, a defeat that marked their first loss in six league matches and left them trailing eight points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa. Everton’s battle against relegation encountered a hurdle as Brighton and Hove Albion snatched a 1-1 draw in the dying moments of their match.

Phil Foden’s goal was the difference for City against Bournemouth, showcasing their ability to secure wins even when not performing at their best. Pep Guardiola praised his team’s resilience and competitiveness.

Arsenal’s resounding victory over Newcastle was a statement of their capabilities, with goals from an own goal by Sven Botman, Kai Havertz, Bukayo Saka, and Jakub Kiwior, despite Newcastle finding a late consolation goal.
