Champions League: Man City Blow 3-Goal Lead, Bayern Beat PSG

Manchester City’s recent struggles continued as they shockingly squandered a three-goal lead, ending in a 3-3 draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich triumphed over Paris Saint-Germain, leaving the French team facing the prospect of elimination.

Other notable results included big wins for Arsenal, Atletico Madrid, Atalanta, and Bayer Leverkusen. Inter Milan moved to the top of the standings after five games, while Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona reached 100 Champions League goals.

However, the most dramatic moment came at the Etihad Stadium, where City appeared to be in control early in the second half, holding a 3-0 lead as they sought to break a five-match losing streak across all competitions. Erling Haaland opened the scoring with a penalty just before halftime, and Ilkay Gundogan’s deflected shot put City 2-0 up in the 50th minute. Haaland added a second goal, making it 3-0, but Feyenoord mounted a stunning comeback. Anis Hadj Moussa capitalized on poor defending to pull one back in the 75th minute. Substitute Santiago Gimenez then scored in the 82nd minute, reducing the deficit to 3-2, and just before the final whistle, Igor Paixao’s assist allowed David Hancko to score the equalizer.

Guardiola expressed frustration after the game, stating that his team’s instability was the reason for conceding so many goals. The draw, however, offered Feyenoord hope of progressing, as they avoided defeat despite being three goals down with only 20 minutes remaining. City now find themselves two points outside the top eight spots that guarantee direct qualification for the knockout stages.

Bayern Munich edged PSG 1-0 in Munich, with Kim Min-jae scoring the only goal, heading in after a poorly cleared corner. PSG’s woes were compounded by a red card for Ousmane Dembele, and they now sit in 26th place in the standings, needing to win their last three games to avoid elimination.

In other Champions League action, Robert Lewandowski scored his 100th goal in the competition, converting an early penalty in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Brest. Dani Olmo added another goal, and Lewandowski later netted his 101st Champions League goal. Inter Milan continued their strong campaign with a 1-0 victory over RB Leipzig, with a Castello Lukeba own goal deciding the match. They remain unbeaten and top the group with 13 points.

Arsenal cruised to a 5-1 victory over Sporting in Lisbon, with goals from Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Magalhaes in the first half. Goncalo Inacio pulled one back for Sporting, but Bukayo Saka scored a penalty, and Leandro Trossard sealed the win late on.

Atalanta thrashed Young Boys 6-1, with Mateo Retegui and Charles De Ketelaere each scoring twice. Bayer Leverkusen also enjoyed a dominant 5-0 win over Red Bull Salzburg, with Florian Wirtz scoring twice. Atletico Madrid demolished Sparta Prague 6-0, with Julian Alvarez and Angel Correa both scoring twice.

AC Milan triumphed 3-2 over Slovan Bratislava, thanks to goals from Christian Pulisic, Rafael Leao, and Tammy Abraham. Slovan’s Tigran Barseghyan and Nino Marcelli scored their goals, but Marko Tolic was sent off at the end.
